With that goal in mind, our Cartage Management Services (CMS) division was developed and launched in March 2000. Although CMS is not a trucking company, we partner with cartage companies to control container movement to/from local docks. The result is that we achieve control of our container movement, which helps us deliver superior customer service to our customers. Additionally, we have been able to reduce the number of empty container moves around the lower mainlaind of B.C. by creating triangulated movement patterns, thus making local container cartage more efficient. We have been able to reduce the cartage process costs as well as reduce the line ups at the empty container terminals at or near the Vancouver and Delta docks.
