Transportation Accountant

Ryder Container Terminals is a progressive, well-established transportation/logistics service provider searching for a dedicated, detailed oriented person to fill the position of Transportation Accountant. This individual has a keen interest in gathering, analyzing and interpreting data and will work closely with those in our CMS (Cartage Management Systems) division.

Responsibilities will include:

• Process CMS Auto Pay Summaries for accounts payable
• Prepare month-end journal entries
• Prepare CMS reports (ocean line analysis, rebates)
• Maintain statistics for CMS activities & prepare monthly activity summary
• Maintain and oversee CMS billing
• Collect data and report key performance indicators
• Assist in analysis of financial variances and preparation of management reports
• Analyze G/L accounts
• Prepare and maintain month-end accruals
• Daily filing; archive filing and retrieval
• Reconcile & administer advances & advance payments

Spreadsheets are used for reports and statistical analysis so this individual must be proficient in the use and operation of Microsoft Excel and other related PC software.
